At the end of April Tom went down to the Centre of Alternative Technology in Wales and ran a two day workshop with 11 keen participants. They made a 1800 recipe book alternator but with some 1200 blades. Rather than cast the magnets in resin they used a prototype system of making a temporary magnet rotor – which can be dismantled after the course and allow the magnets to be used again.

The course went really well and it was great to finally run a V3 course at CAT. The next one is already scheduled in for October – book your place via the CAT website here.
