V3’s first grid-tie project! The stator was wound for ~400V operation and uses an SMA 1800 inverter, an SMA rectifier and over voltage protection box and a 5kW dumpload.

Unfortunately the location isn’t ideal and output in the first year was disappointing. We returned in 2010 and tried re-programming the MPPT curve of the inverter for better performance. Output is still disappointingly low, most likely due to turbulent wind regime.
